Review - Bricks Turkey Bar

Brand:  Bricks
Flavor:  Turkey Sweet Potato Cranberry & Pumpkin Seed Bar
Where to get it: here @ BricksBars.com

Well, at least I will never accuse Bricks of false advertising. Just about everything they put into this bar makes it onto the front wrapper in the form of the name. The pumpkin seeds are more for texture, I am assuming. I think the name, being filled with all these nice holiday ingredients, can lead you to think there might be a pumpkin taste to this bar, and there isn’t.  It’s very true to turkey flavor though, and the black pepper is a force, but not an altogether unpleasant one. It’s a funky bar, and also safe to share with your pooch, which is pretty cool.

Review - Shelton's Turkey Pepperoni

Brand:  Shelton’s
Flavor:  Turkey Pepperoni
Where to get it: here @ Amazon

These Shelton’s Pepperoni Flavored Turkey Smoked Snack Sticks (jeeeeeeeeeez) are long and thin, like those nasty Slim Jims. I don’t really have a “shape” preference for pepperoni, perhaps because I have only found one healthy pepperoni that was good…ever. These are kind of right in the middle. They aren’t bad, but they didn’t knock my meat socks off, either. They’re a bit dry, which is to be expected since they aren’t full of fat, and I also found them a bit over-seasoned. Or maybe it was that they were under-salted? I’m not really sure. Healthy-snack-wise, these are great. Almost pure protein, and very low calorie. I really think this was just a taste-preference for me, not that this isn’t a yummy product. If you have the chance, give them a try – you might really love ‘em.

Review: Ostrim Turkey Sticks

Brand:  Ostrim
Flavor:  Maple Brown Sugar Turkey Snack Stick
Where to get it: here @ Amazon

Pepperoni can never be healthy. Full of MSG, and animal organs and byproducts and chemicals, you should avoid it at all costs, whether you’re on a special diet or not. Wait, what? OSTrim makes a pepperoni that you won’t be scared eat?! Everything on the ingredients panel is recognizable as actual food-product. And how about the taste? SO FREAKING GOOD! I was really surprised since I have had such a hard time finding palatable jerky that wasn’t loaded with MSG. All these natural ingredients, for sure it won’t be savory enough, or the texture will be dry and weird, but NOPE! These sticks are perfect. (Vegetarian and vegan friends, earmuffs please): I ran my meat-eating behind right to Amazon and ordered more turkey sticks, and some of the beef & elk blend. (For some reason, their products are cheaper in their Amazon shop than on their website.) I’ll definitely be letting your know how the red meat sticks are, but these are a straight-up win.
